About Glow FM
Broadcasting excellence since 2024, bringing you the heartbeat of the city through music, conversation, and community connection.
GLOW FM
Some radio stations arrive quietly. They tiptoe into town, whisper their presence, and hope listeners eventually notice them.
Glow FM 99.1 Akure did the opposite.
Glow FM 99.1 was officially opened on February 21, 2024, and by March 2024, it began broadcasting with the kind of urgency that sounded like destiny. Not as a “new station trying to find its voice,” but as a station that already knew what it came to do: wake the city up, shake the airwaves, and become unforgettable.
Glow FM sits in a compound at Ijapo estate an iconic compound once owned by Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN a man whose name carries weight, courage, and a stubborn refusal to accept mediocrity. There’s something poetic about it. A place once associated with fearless truth now housing a new kind of power: a voice that reaches the people daily, directly, and relentlessly.
Glow FM wasn’t built on timid ideas. It was powered by vibrant employees young, hungry, creative minds with energy loud enough to travel through walls. The early days were intense, exciting, and fast. The kind of early days that separate stations that are playing radio… from stations that are becoming culture.
Glow FM underwent many staff changes and not the cosmetic kind. These were changes that shaped character, refined standards, and demanded real professionalism. It was pressure and pruning. The station evolved in real time, learning what every great brand eventually learns:
You build it by enforcing it.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Through the shifts, the reshuffles, and the strengthening of its internal engine, Glow FM kept rising. The sound became tighter. The delivery became sharper. The identity became clearer.
Programming became more confident. The station began to feel less like a newcomer and more like a force that had always belonged at the top.
In December 2025, Glow FM 99.1 Akure won Radio Station of the Year in Ondo state.
Not by luck. Not by noise.
By growth. By grit. By doing the work when nobody was clapping.
That award wasn’t just a trophy. It was a stamp. Proof that what started in 2024 as a bold new signal had become, by 2025, an institution.
As the station continued to grow in leaps and bounds, it expanded into the spaces where modern audiences live. YouTube channels. Podcast studios. Digital content growth. Media innovation platforms. The Glow brand began moving beyond the FM dial and into the future, where audiences don’t just listen, they subscribe, share, comment, and connect.
Because the truth is simple:
Radio is powerful.
But radio that evolves is unstoppable.
Glow FM 99.1 Akure represents something rare in a world full of recycled content and lazy ambition. It represents momentum. It represents the kind of brand that doesn’t beg for attention, it earns loyalty. The kind of station that understands that relevance is not a gift, it’s a discipline.
Broadcasting by March 2024.
Impactful from day one.
Refined through change.
Crowned Radio Station of the Year, December 2025.
And still rising.
Glow FM 99.1 isn’t just on air.
It’s on a mission.
