Role overview

Glow FM 99.1 is seeking an experienced, strategic, and result-driven Head of Marketing Department to lead our marketing and commercial operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase advertising revenue, attract new clients, strengthen relationships with existing advertisers and sponsors, and create new business opportunities across radio, digital media, events, and branded content.

The role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent leadership ability, and proven experience in sales, marketing, advertising, or business development.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the Marketing Department.

  • Develop and execute marketing, advertising and revenue-generation strategies.

  • Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

  • Identify and secure new advertisers, sponsors and strategic partners.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate organisations, government agencies, SMEs, advertising agencies and other clients.

  • Develop attractive radio advertising, sponsorship and promotional packages.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, quotations and client pitches.

  • Generate new business opportunities for radio programmes, events, digital platforms and branded content.

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of marketing executives.

  • Coordinate client follow-ups, advertising bookings and campaign execution.

  • Work closely with Programming, Production, News, Social Media and Management teams to develop commercially viable campaigns.

  • Identify opportunities to monetize Glow FM’s radio, social media, video, podcast and digital platforms.

  • Monitor competitors, market trends and advertising opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, clients, proposals, bookings and payments.

  • Submit regular marketing, sales and revenue performance reports to Management.

  • Represent Glow FM professionally at meetings, presentations, events and business engagements.
 

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in marketing, media sales, advertising, business development or a related commercial role.

  • Previous experience in radio, broadcasting, media or advertising is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, negotiate effectively and close deals.

  • Strong understanding of sales targets and revenue generation.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.

  • Good knowledge of traditional and digital marketing.

  • Understanding of social media advertising and digital media monetization is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively under targets and deadlines.

  • Strong organisational, reporting and problem-solving skills.

  • A degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Advertising or a related discipline is an advantage.
