The seven-day exercise, which runs from October 9 to 15, allows registered voters to verify their details, report errors or omissions and collect available PVCs from the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise conducted in 2025.
In Plateau State, INEC said the exercise would take place at Registration Area centres across the state’s 207 registration areas, between 9am and 3pm daily. The commission also urged voters to check their names, photographs, dates of birth and polling-unit information to ensure their records are accurate.
Sokoto Resident Electoral Commissioner Umar Garba similarly confirmed that the exercise had commenced in the state. He said PVCs available for collection during this phase were those belonging to voters registered between August and December 2025.
Cards relating to lost or damaged PVCs, transfers, updates and registrations from the second and third phases of the registration exercise were not yet ready for collection in Sokoto. INEC said it would announce when those cards became available.
After the display period ends on October 15, PVC collection in Sokoto will continue at INEC offices across the state’s 23 local government areas.
The commission has urged eligible voters to take advantage of the exercise to confirm their registration details and resolve any discrepancies ahead of the 2027 polls.
INEC’s preparations form part of wider efforts to improve the accuracy of the voter register and ensure that eligible Nigerians can participate in the forthcoming elections.
