• The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that some of its members have been arrested, detained and harassed ahead of the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State.The party's Deputy Governorship Candidate, Ayodeji Ogunsakin, made the allegation during a press conference in Ado-Ekiti, claiming that several party members had been targeted because of their affiliation with the opposition party.Ogunsakin called on President Bola Tinubu and relevant security authorities to investigate the allegations and ensure that democratic rights are protected as the state prepares for the governorship election.He also urged all relevant authorities to guarantee a level playing field for political parties and ensure that security agencies remain professional, impartial and non-partisan in the discharge of their duties during the election period.However, the Ekiti State Government has dismissed the allegations.
