Nigerian dancer Benjamin Daniel, popularly known as Ben Dancer, has completed a seven-day dance marathon at Freedom Park in Lagos, recording seven days, eight hours and 32 minutes according to his team. He reached his 168-hour target at about 3am on Tuesday but continued dancing for several more hours before ending the challenge around noon.

Daniel, 33, undertook the challenge in an attempt to surpass the existing Guinness World Records mark of 127 hours for the longest dance marathon by an individual. His performance featured Nigerian dance styles and music genres including Afrobeats, fuji, jazz and zouk, while supporters gathered at Freedom Park throughout the attempt.

However, Guinness World Records has not yet recognised Daniel as the new record holder. The organisation said his application is active and that evidence from the attempt must undergo its official review and verification process before any record can be confirmed.
