Commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as okada riders, in Ondo State have declared their support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The riders, under their association, said they are committed to mobilising their members across the 18 local government areas of the state to support the president’s second-term bid.

According to the group, their decision was influenced by what they described as the administration’s policies and leadership direction, which they believe will yield long-term benefits for the country.

The development adds to the growing number of support groups and stakeholders in Ondo State aligning with Tinubu’s re-election ambition, as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of 2027.

Leaders of the association reportedly assured that their widespread grassroots presence would be effectively utilised to canvass support and mobilise voters during the election period.

Political observers say such endorsements from grassroots groups like commercial riders highlight the importance of local networks in Nigeria’s electoral process, where community-based mobilisation plays a crucial role in determining outcomes.
