Akinola also used the statement to defend Oyetola’s record, contrasting his tenure with what he described as the failures of the opposition in the state.

“Unlike those addicted to social media drama and attention-seeking outbursts, Oyetola’s record of service speaks loudly for him,” he indicated. Looking ahead to the 2026 Osun governorship election, he predicted defeat for the incumbent governor. “The people of Osun State are tired of emotional outbursts and celebrity side-shows. No amount of propaganda or online hostility can distract the public from the realities of poor governance,” he indicated.

The comments have further intensified political tension in Osun State, where exchanges between supporters of both camps have increasingly spilled onto social media platforms in recent weeks. that political tensions in Osun intensified following comments made by Nigerian singer Davido, who publicly criticised Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. =https:///osun-2026-your-plan-wont-work-davido-tackles-oyetola/
