President Bola Tinubu has stressed that Nigeria’s future will be shaped not by rhetoric, but by deliberate actions, strong institutions, and sustained discipline. The President stated this while commissioning the newly completed headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja.
Tinubu said the task of national renewal requires more than promises, adding that progress must rest on concrete efforts, institutional strength, and a shared national purpose. He noted that the event was not just about unveiling a building, but about strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal foundation and rebuilding public confidence in national institutions.
The President also said no serious nation can achieve lasting prosperity on a weak and fragmented revenue system, stressing that government must earn the trust of citizens through fairness, efficiency and accountability. He added that the new headquarters represents a higher standard of professionalism, transparency and service.
Tinubu commended the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, for the successful completion of the project, which was completed in 30 months and is expected to provide a modern working environment for about 3,000 staff.
He further urged the agency to uphold the highest standards by not only collecting revenue, but also building trust, ensuring fairness, and demonstrating that public institutions can be efficient, responsible and people-focused.
