Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on his birthday, describing him as a man of courage, intellect, and uncommon sagacity.
In a goodwill message shared on his official X account on Monday, Atiku praised El-Rufai’s leadership qualities and record of service, despite what he described as ongoing political distractions.
“Happy Birthday to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. A man of intellect, courage, and uncommon sagacity,” Atiku wrote.
He added that El-Rufai’s achievements and clarity of purpose remain evident, even amid what he termed political persecution and needless distractions.
Atiku also prayed for strength, peace, and divine guidance for the former governor in the years ahead.
El-Rufai has recently been in the public spotlight following engagements with security agencies and his public demands for clarification from the Office of the National Security Adviser over an alleged plan involving the importation of thallium sulphate, a highly regulated substance.
The former governor has maintained that his concerns were raised in good faith, stressing that transparency would strengthen public trust in national institutions.
