AAUA Law Don Says Gender-Based Violence Extends Beyond Physical Abuse
Sub-Dean, Faculty of Law, Adekunle Ajasin University, Olamide Mohammed, says gender-based violence is a harmful behaviour directed at individuals because of their gender, noting that it goes beyond physical harm to include sexual, psychological, emotional, spiritual and economic abuse. WHO and UN Women say gender-based violence is rooted in unequal power relations and harmful gender norms.
