Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola have demonstrated a shared commitment to President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign as 30 campaign vehicles donated by Niger Delta leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, were unveiled in Osogbo on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event brought together supporters and representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Accord Party as preparations intensified for the presidential election.
Speaking through his deputy, Kola Adewusi, Governor Adeleke called on political stakeholders to set aside their differences and work towards a common presidential campaign objective. He described the collaboration as a coalition involving different political interests and urged participants to strengthen grassroots engagement across Osun State. Adeleke said the coalition was targeting between 1.5 million and two million votes for Tinubu, while clarifying that the arrangement did not extend to National Assembly or state legislative elections.
Former Governor Oyetola, whose address was delivered by Bola Oyebamiji, also acknowledged the cooperation among political groups supporting Tinubu. He described the arrangement as an opportunity to coordinate presidential campaign activities beyond party boundaries and set a target of 1.5 million votes in Osun. Oyetola, however, encouraged APC supporters to continue mobilising for the party's candidates contesting other elective positions, underscoring the differences that remain within the coalition.
Representing Tompolo, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Pondi, explained that the 30 donated vehicles were equipped with speakers, generators and amplifiers to support campaign activities in communities across the state. He also indicated that additional resources could be provided to strengthen the movement. APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru and other political leaders attended the event, which included the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement's Osun structures.
The event marked a notable moment of cooperation between political figures whose parties have maintained separate interests in Osun State. Adeleke and Oyetola had previously been associated with disagreements over the leadership and composition of Tinubu's state presidential campaign council. Their representatives' participation in the latest gathering signals coordination around the presidential election, although both political camps remain free to pursue their respective legislative ambitions. The vote targets announced during the event remain campaign objectives rather than established indications of electoral support.
