Abuja, Suleja residents to face 20-minute power outage Saturday

TCN has announced a planned 20-minute power interruption on Saturday for parts of Suleja, Zuba, Sabon Wuse and surrounding areas during preventive maintenance.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a planned 20-minute power interruption on Saturday, September 26, 2026, affecting parts of Suleja and neighbouring areas served by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company. The outage is linked to annual preventive maintenance at the Suleja Transmission Substation.
TCN said maintenance on the Gwarinpa鈥揝uleja 132/33kV Line 2 bay switchgear and associated equipment will run from 1pm to 4pm. Customers in Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Zuba, Sabon Wuse and surrounding areas are expected to experience the brief interruption during the exercise.
The company explained that the outage will allow load to be transferred from Gwarinpa鈥揝uleja Line 2 to Kubwa鈥揝uleja Line 1, enabling the maintenance to continue without a prolonged loss of supply.
