Ajasa was expected to join the team’s camp in Nizhny Novgorod as Nigeria prepare for the October 6 encounter. His invitation comes amid several withdrawals, including captain Wilfred Ndidi and defender Victory Akpe, further reducing Chelle’s available options.
Rostov confirmed Ajasa’s invitation on its official website, wishing the midfielder success with the national team. Nigeria are using the friendly to assess their squad after a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in their latest 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
