Some Nigerians are turning to personal savings, loans and proceeds from asset sales to raise money for shares in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ Initial Public Offering. The strong interest follows the opening of the offer at ₦525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares costing ₦5,250.

Prospective investors interviewed in different parts of the country said they viewed the offer as an opportunity to own a stake in one of Nigeria’s largest industrial projects. Some, however, said the cost of participating remained difficult amid current economic pressures, with individuals adopting different ways of raising funds.

The public offer opened on September 14 and is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026. The company is offering 4.1 billion ordinary shares, while regulators and market operators have urged investors to use only approved channels when subscribing.
