Journalist and media entrepreneur, Osasu Igbinedion-Ogwuche, founder of The Osasu Show Foundation Africa, has been selected as one of 27 emerging African leaders for the 2026 cohort of the prestigious Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellowship.
Her selection, announced via a communiqué on Thursday by the Communications Lead of TOS Group, Hammed Adejare, followed what organisers described as a highly competitive process involving hundreds of nominations from across the continent.
“Her selection reflects a distinguished record of leadership, an unwavering commitment to public service, and impactful contributions to good governance, systems building, and Pan-African strategic leadership across Nigeria and beyond.
“Operating at the intersection of enterprise, governance, media, and institutional reform, she leads the TOS Group—a diversified, purpose-driven conglomerate spanning media, philanthropy, real estate, hospitality and energy—while advancing an ambitious, women-centred political empowerment agenda.
“Under her stewardship, the group has evolved into a performance-oriented enterprise ecosystem, including TOS TV Network, a digital-first Pan-African media platform; TOS Foundation Africa, a social impact institution advancing political representation, education, and economic empowerment; NatSu Global, a cross-border real estate and media investment firm; Lezeanoo Services Ltd., a key player in Nigeria’s energy value chain; and NOLA Restaurant and Lounge, a premium hospitality destination,” the statement read in part.
The Tutu Fellowship Programme, convened by the African Leadership Institute, is regarded as one of Africa’s foremost leadership initiatives.
Established in 2005 and inspired by the values of Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu, the programme is designed to identify and nurture high-potential leaders committed to ethical leadership and social transformation across the continent.
Through a rigorous selection process, the fellowship brings together individuals from diverse sectors—including governance, business, civil society and the media—offering them a platform for reflection, collaboration and leadership development.
Alumni of the programme form part of a growing network of influential African changemakers working to address the continent’s most pressing challenges.
As a Fellow, Igbinedion-Ogwuche will join this network of leaders and participate in a year-long programme focused on values-based leadership, innovation and sustainable development.
The statement also quoted the African Leadership Institute as saying the selected associates “demonstrate the remarkable depth and diversity of Africa’s leadership talent, and the programme remains committed to strengthening their capacity as catalysts for positive, transformative impact across the continent,” adding that the recognition affirms Osasu’s “strong alignment with the programme’s vision of fostering impactful, values-driven leadership.”
