The Peoples Democratic Party-led Rainbow Coalition in Bayelsa State has unveiled a campaign timetable to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election. The schedule was announced on Tuesday, October 20, by the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Ikaebimo Mark, and outlines activities across the state’s 105 wards.

According to the timetable, the coalition will begin with three days of fasting, prayers and a solemn assembly from November 5 to 7, followed by a campaign dedication and thanksgiving service on November 8. Formal political activities will start on November 9 with the inauguration of the Bayelsa Rainbow Coalition Campaign Council and the commissioning of its campaign secretariat.

The coalition also plans to unveil campaign buses donated by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, distribute campaign materials across local government areas and hold senatorial district campaign flag-offs in Bayelsa Central, West and East between November 17 and 21.

Bayelsa PDP leader George Turnah said the coalition would use its grassroots structures to campaign for Tinubu and urged the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress to view the group as a partner rather than a rival. He said the campaign would highlight projects and programmes of the Tinubu administration, including interventions by the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The coalition’s programme is expected to culminate in a grand event where Tinubu would be formally endorsed by participating political groups. Claims by coalition leaders about their grassroots strength and ability to deliver votes remain political assertions and do not amount to a forecast of the 2027 election outcome.
