Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote has urged wealthy Africans to embrace humility and simplicity, saying financial success should not make anyone feel superior to others.

Dangote made the remarks at the Vision 2030 event, where he spoke about his approach to life despite his status as one of Africa’s wealthiest businessmen.

He explained that he could stay in even a poorly rated hotel, take a shower and leave without feeling uncomfortable, stressing that people should remain grounded regardless of their achievements.

“Life is about simplicity,” Dangote said, urging people not to place themselves above others because of their wealth or social standing.

The president of Dangote Group also reflected on the responsibility of older generations to guide young people. He said young Nigerians represented the future and that business leaders should create opportunities to share their experiences with them.

Dangote acknowledged that his generation had not done enough for Nigeria and Africa, calling for more engagement between established leaders and younger people.

His comments came after content creator Adebayo Ridwan, popularly known as Bae U Barbie, invited him to appear on the YouTube programme *Curiosity Made Me Ask*. Dangote accepted the invitation, saying young people were an important audience for conversations about business and life experience.

The remarks have renewed attention on humility, leadership and the importance of mentorship in developing the next generation of African entrepreneurs.
