Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi, popularly known as Aunty Ajara, has passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.
The sad news was confirmed today by Nollywood director Tobi Oladele Teemony (Tee Mony) in a statement shared on social media.
Tee Mony expressed deep appreciation to everyone who stood by the actress during her health struggles, noting that she received overwhelming love, prayers, and financial support from well-meaning individuals both within and outside the country.
He also appealed to the public to stop sending further donations to the account previously shared for her medical care, stating that financial contributions were no longer needed.
The announcement was accompanied by a video message from her elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, who confirmed her passing and thanked the public for their support.
Report has it that Aunty Ajara’s death comes barely a week after Tee Mony and several Nollywood colleagues, including Ronke Oshodi Oke, publicly appealed for urgent financial assistance when her health reportedly deteriorated despite ongoing treatment.
Earlier reports revealed that the actress was battling a liver-related illness and had been placed on oxygen as her condition worsened and was also said to be pregnant at the time of her illness, which further heightened concern among fans and colleagues.
