• Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has approved the dismissal and prosecution of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman and other officers found culpable in the Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has approved the dismissal and prosecution of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman and other officers found culpable in the killing of a suspect in Effurun, Delta State.
• The decision at an emergency press conference in Abuja, following a review of the incident by the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) and other internal disciplinary procedures.
• The panel found that ASP Usman “acted in gross violation of Force Order 237 and other extant regulations governing the use of firearms,” and recommended his immediate dismissal alongside other officers implicated in the incident.
