A 15-year-old Ghanaian boy, identified as Javits Frimpong, has been shot dead while walking to school in the Bronx borough of New York, United States, in an incident that has sparked grief and renewed concerns over teenage violence.

According to the New York Police Department, Frimpong was shot in the abdomen shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, near East 171st Street and Crotona Place in the Claremont section of the Bronx. He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police are searching for three teenage suspects, believed to be between 16 and 18 years old, who reportedly fled the scene wearing black clothing and blue surgical masks. Investigators have not established a motive for the shooting, and no arrests had been announced as of the latest reports.

The victim's father, Thomas Frimpong, told Newsmen that his son moved from Ghana to the United States about a year ago to live with him. He also alleged that the teenager had repeatedly complained about being bullied at school, adding that two students had been suspended following an earlier confrontation. However, authorities have not confirmed any connection between the alleged bullying and the fatal shooting.

Describing his son as a quiet and reserved teenager, the grieving father appealed to those responsible to surrender to the police. The NYPD has urged anyone with information about the incident to contact its Crime Stoppers hotline as investigations continue.
