Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has summoned key stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the All Progressives Congress to a joint political meeting as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the International Convention Centre in Awka.

A circular signed by Soludo’s Chief of Staff and Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council Secretariat in Anambra, Dr Ben Nwankwo, said accreditation will begin at 10 a.m., while proceedings are expected to start at 1 p.m. Attendance will be restricted to accredited invitees drawn from the two parties and other designated political groups.

Those invited include current and former governors, deputy governors, party executives, political appointees, local government officials, elected councillors and candidates of APGA and APC for the 2027 elections. Coordinators of President Bola Tinubu support groups and selected members of the Accord Party and Peoples Democratic Party state structures were also listed among expected participants.

The meeting comes after Soludo was appointed Anambra State coordinator of Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council despite being the national leader of APGA. APGA has publicly backed the appointment, while Soludo has said his party will support Tinubu’s presidential bid while pursuing its own legislative ambitions in Anambra.

The joint gathering is therefore expected to focus on campaign coordination and political mobilisation in the state. Although cooperation between APGA and APC around Tinubu’s re-election has become public, the two parties remain separate political organisations and no merger has been announced.
