Governor Ademola Adeleke has unveiled the Osun State Security Trust Fund as part of efforts to strengthen the security architecture of the state, enhance operational logistics for security agencies and effectively tackle emerging threats. Reports say the initiative is designed to support security agencies with modern tools and improved operational capacity.
Speaking at the Governor’s Office in Abere, the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the initiative, Kunle Adepoju, said the move reflects the governor’s commitment to the safety, stability and prosperity of Osun State. He said the trust fund would strengthen the security architecture through collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility.
Adepoju explained that the fund is intended to serve as a partnership platform bringing together government, the private sector, development partners and other stakeholders to pool resources for security operations. He added that the intervention would cover modern equipment, technology, training, logistics and intelligence gathering to address existing gaps and improve operational efficiency.
He also said transparency and accountability would guide the management of the fund, noting that a governance structure has been put in place to ensure proper oversight, prudent management and regular public reporting.
Also speaking, Secretary of the Implementation Committee, Barrister Femi Oyedipe, said no government could fund security operations alone, stressing that the trust fund was built on a public-private partnership model to support security infrastructure and related interventions across the state.
