The Oyo State Police Command has arrested an Indian national and two security operatives over the alleged assault of two truck drivers at Karma Agric Feeds and Foods Limited along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan.

The suspects were identified as Harjit Singh, 46, and two company security operatives, Olowu Oluwadamilare and Sodeke Olamide. Their arrests followed the circulation of a video showing the alleged assault, which prompted police intervention.

According to police spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga directed detectives to identify and arrest those involved after the command was alerted to the footage on Tuesday.

The victims, identified as Ridwan Olajide, 34, and Taiwo Yinusa, 37, were admitted to a hospital in the Academy area of Ibadan for treatment. Police investigators have visited them and obtained their statements.

Preliminary findings indicate that the confrontation began with a disagreement over where a truck delivering goods should be parked. The driver reportedly objected to the designated spot over concerns that it could damage the vehicle’s tyres. One tyre subsequently burst, and a dispute over its replacement allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation.

Police said investigations are continuing to establish the roles of everyone involved and determine culpability. The command urged the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course, stressing that anyone found responsible would face the law.
