The arrests took place on Wednesday, October 21, in the Mararaban Liman Katagum and Bayan Gari areas, according to information released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib.
In the first operation, police reportedly arrested 29-year-old Dahiru Muhammad at Mararaban Liman Katagum. A search of the premises led to the recovery of 124 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 12 tablets of Tramadol and 50 Exzol tablets.
Habib said preliminary investigations indicated that the recovered items belonged to an individual identified as “G-Man”, who was reportedly still at large.
In a separate operation later that day, officers arrested 31-year-old Victor Godwin in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi. Police said he was allegedly found with 14 sachets and additional quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Colorado and Indian hemp.
The command said efforts were ongoing to locate the alleged supplier and investigate the suspected drug distribution network. It added that the suspects in custody would be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
