The streaming platform announced the agreement on Tuesday, confirming that it will broadcast all 104 matches of the tournament live to viewers in the two territories. The competition will mark 100 years since the inaugural World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930.
Spain will co-host the tournament with Portugal and Morocco, while Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay are scheduled to stage centenary celebration matches.
Netflix said its coverage would include pre-match, half-time and post-match programmes offering a Spanish perspective, alongside daily matchday round-ups and promotional content ahead of the competition.
The agreement also provides for one match per matchday to be available free in Spain. A national free-to-air broadcaster will show selected fixtures, including every match involving Spain, both semi-finals and the final. The broadcaster has not yet been named.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said the deal would bring the tournament closer to Spanish football fans, while FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström welcomed the partnership and its potential to broaden access to the competition.
The agreement adds to Netflix’s growing sports portfolio. The company also holds rights to the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups in the United States and Canada.
The financial terms of the 2030 deal have not been disclosed.
