Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed six suspected terrorists during an ambush in Borno State, while separate security operations led to the arrest of 11 suspected collaborators and the surrender of a member of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS).

The ambush was carried out by troops of the Nigerian Army’s 29 Task Force Brigade, working with Hybrid Force personnel, along the Targejeri axis of Kaga Local Government Area in the early hours of October 25.

According to the military, the operation followed intelligence about suspected terrorist movements in the area. Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 169 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and several mobile phones.

In a related operation, security personnel arrested six additional suspected collaborators during a follow-up raid in Benisheikh, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to 11. Authorities said investigations were underway to establish their alleged involvement and identify possible links to other members of the network.

Separately, troops deployed in Gwoza Local Government Area received the surrender of a JAS member who reportedly escaped from a terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains. The individual surrendered with an AK-47 rifle and ammunition and was taken into military custody for further processing.

The military said the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to disrupt insurgent activities and their support networks across the North-East. It urged residents to provide credible information to security agencies.

The allegations against the arrested suspects remain subject to investigation.
