Etihad Airways has extended the suspension of flights to Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia until November 5, 2026, as continuing attacks linked to Yemen’s Houthi movement disrupt aviation across the kingdom. The United Arab Emirates carrier confirmed the extension on Thursday, citing operational disruptions.

Etihad initially suspended services to Riyadh on October 12, following deadly attacks on King Khalid International Airport. The airline has now included Dammam in the suspension after another attack struck King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

Saudi authorities said the Dammam attack killed two people and injured eight others, while the airport suffered material damage. Operations subsequently resumed, while Riyadh’s airport has reopened only to limited traffic after repeated strikes earlier in the month caused casualties and widespread flight cancellations.

Etihad said it would continue operating daytime services to the western Saudi city of Jeddah, but night flights to and from the city will remain suspended until November 5. Passengers affected by the changes have been advised to check their flight status and travel arrangements before heading to airports.

The disruption comes amid an escalation in hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, who have targeted airports, oil facilities and other infrastructure in recent weeks. Several international airlines have reduced or suspended Saudi services as security concerns continue to affect regional air travel.
