Residents have called on the government of Ondo State to take urgent steps to address rising security concerns across communities before the situation escalates further.

Speaking on Glow FM’s current affairs programme, Issues in the Dailies, political and public affairs analyst Adebisi Aduloju urged the state government to strengthen community security structures to improve safety and crime prevention.

Aduloju noted that the government should invest more in local vigilante groups across all local government areas of the state, stressing that community-based security networks play a critical role in intelligence gathering and early crime detection.

According to him, empowering local security groups with better resources and coordination would help complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in tackling criminal activities.

Meanwhile, some callers who reacted during the programme also appealed to the state government to review the leadership structure of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps).

They argued that strengthening leadership and operational capacity within the corps could further enhance its effectiveness in addressing insecurity in the state.

Residents also stressed the importance of collaboration between government authorities, security agencies, and local communities in order to build a more responsive and sustainable security framework.
